This month's discussion topic is Navigating Today's Teaching and Research Landscape This discussion offers a space to reflect on the evolving landscape of teaching and research. Faculty are invited to share their experiences, questions, and concerns in a collegial setting focused on mutual understanding. Representatives from Faculty Affairs and the Division of Research will be present to listen and engage in dialogue. Together, we'll explore how current dynamics are shaping academic work and identify opportunities to support one another.

The "Distress and Resilience in the Age of Technology: A Conversation" presentation explores how the pervasiveness of technology use may affect our values, attitudes, behaviors and relationships. The presentation will includes an engaging conversation about what we find distressing, and what it may take to be resilient in the face of such distress.
- 5:00 PM2hAuditions for 'The Post-America Variety Show'Set in a post-apocalyptic College Station, "The Post-America Variety Show" is a new variety extravaganza that takes a nostalgic look back at a time that never was: the Roaring 2020s, a time when people from different points of view were able to set aside their differences, come together, yell and fight, but also laugh. Enjoy singing and dancing, original music and choreography, comedy and more, all created by Texas A&M students. Prepare one to two minutes to showcase talent of any kind. Creative exercises with a partner will also be a part of the audition. Dress in comfortable clothes. Auditions will be in the Black Box Theater in the Liberal Arts and Arts and Humanities Building. The production is Nov. 20-21 at 7 p.m. at Rudder Theatre. Tickets will be available at the MSC Box Office.
- 6:00 PM2hPhysics Demos at First FridayFind us to explore fun hands-on demonstrations and learn about physics such as "magic bubbles" (soap bubbles floating in aquarium with dry ice), angular momentum (aka figure skater), gyroscopes, optical illusions, animal balloons and racquetballs frozen in liquid nitrogen, bike wheel generator, vacuum lifter, inseparable phone books (fight the friction!), sports physics and many more!
- 6:00 PM3h 30mFirst Friday Downtown Bryan ShuttleThe Downtown Bryan First Friday shuttle runs the first Friday of each month. The shuttle will depart from Old Main Dr. starting at 6:00PM, and run every 30 minutes. The final shuttle back to campus will depart from Downtown at 9:30PM.
