The College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts will host the eighth incarnation of the World Shakuhachi Festival, April 17-20. An end-blown bamboo flute, the shakuhachi has become a much-loved and ubiquitous fixture in the world music scene over the last several decades. The festival will feature a diverse range of music from these genres in concerts, workshops, lectures, exhibitions, master classes and informal gatherings. Participants can learn from and experience the artistry of the most consummate shakuhachi artists in the world, and be inspired by the endless possibilities inherent in this simple bamboo flute. Performances will take place at Rudder Theatre, Rudder Forum and the Black Box Theater in the Liberal Arts and Arts and Humanities Building. Workshops will take place in the Liberal Arts and Arts and Humanities Building.Gala Concert: Treasures of Shakuhachi Musical Heritage:Saturday at 6 p.m. at Round Top's Festival Concert Hall.

The display is a collection of letters, pictures and other items of personal significance that help add a face to the names of those who will be called at this year's on-campus Muster ceremony. In the past, many families have shared items ranging from Aggie rings and memorabilia from organizations or activities they were involved with to a bowl of the honoree's favorite candy. These items will be displayed in the Memorial Student Center Flag Room beginning Monday, April 14, until 11 a.m. on the day of Muster, Monday, April 21.
