YOUR RING, YOUR AGGIE STORY Howdy, Ags! Ring Day is almost here! Whether you are receiving your Aggie Ring or celebrating someone who is, this special edition has everything you need to get ready for the weekend and learn more about the tradition behind one of Texas A&M University’s most recognizable symbols. TOP THREE THINGS TO KNOW Celebrate Aggie Ring Day On Oct. 8–10, Aggies will gather at the Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Center to receive their Aggie Rings. If you are getting your ring, check your ticket time, make a parking plan and review what you need to bring so you can focus on celebrating when you arrive. Explore the History of the Aggie Ring The oldest known Aggie Ring dates back to 1889, and Aggies began adopting a shared design near the turn of the century. Although the ring has changed over time, its most recognizable features have connected generations of Aggies for more than 100 years. See How an Aggie Ring Is Made Each Aggie Ring goes through a detailed process before reaching its recipient. Skilled jewelers cast the ring, engrave its distinctive details, apply its finish, polish it and inspect it for quality — giving every ring the care expected of one of Texas A&M’s most recognized traditions. RESOURCE SPOTLIGHT The Association of Former Students The Association of Former Students hosts Aggie Ring Day and supports Aggies throughout their time at Texas A&M and after graduation. Its work includes scholarships, funding for student organizations and traditions, career resources and programs that help Aggies stay connected wherever they go.
