Lucille Contreras (Lipan Apache), founder and CEO of Texas Tribal Buffalo Project (TTBP) will give a talk about the ways in which the TTBP, a non-profit organization, helps facilitate tribal sovereignty through economic development and environmentally sustainable practices, including regenerating soil and promoting a diversity of plant growth through its buffalo herd. She will also talk about how the buffalo ranch, located halfway between San Antonio and Houston, helps reconnect Indigenous people (and all Texans) to the buffalo.
