"Preparing a Competitive F31 Application" aims to break down every component of the F31 application (https://grants.nih.gov/funding/activity-codes/F31) and shares writing strategies drawn from her own successful proposal. The F31 is a fellowship for doctoral students (U.S. citizens or permanent residents) with a maximum award duration of five years, covering an annual stipend, insurance, and tuition/fees. During the session students will review each required section, discuss examples from funded proposals, and demystify the overall application process. The session covers yearly due dates (April 8, August 8, December 8), the TAMU SRS internal review process, and the option to request NRSA childcare allowance. This session is part of the Summer 2026 Grad School Fellowship Application Writing Boot Camp.
