- Service Restoration ProgressBased on current progress in response to CrowdStrike's global outage, Texas A&M University will continue normal operations through the weekend and resume classes as regularly scheduled for Monday, July 22, at all locations.81% of the university's impacted servers have been remediated. 2,800 of more than 10,000 potentially impacted workstations have been remediated. IT professionals are manually reviewing the remaining workstations as faculty and staff return to campus. More than 300 classrooms have been remediated and the remaining rooms should be fully operational for class on Monday, July 22. Additional staff will be on-site to provide real-time support. The computer labs supporting New Student Conferences on our main campus have been remediated. Our campuses in Galveston, Dallas, McAllen and Fort Worth are completing their remediation efforts today.As a reminder, university-issued Windows devices that will not start up or show a blue screen, must be brought to your local IT support team on campus to be manually restored. If you experience an issue with a university service or cannot log into your university-issued device, please contact your unit’s IT department or Help Desk Central at 979.845.8300 or helpdesk@tamu.edu. Technology Services employees are on standby to assist with repairing devices that still need assistance, including devices that cannot be physically brought to campus. As our technology services team members continue their work, please stay vigilant. Outages like this provide an ideal opportunity for bad actors to target faculty, staff and students. DO NOT provide any information to individuals presenting themselves as representatives of CrowdStrike as you will not ever be contacted by the vendor directly. Remember, never give out passwords, click on suspicious links or provide details to an unknown email, phone call or other communication. If you are unsure of the credibility of a request, immediately notify your local IT support team, Help Desk Central or report any incidents to security@tamu.edu. Timely updates will continue to be posted via IT alerts and universitywide communication will be shared as services become fully operational.
- CrowdStrike Outage Impacting ServicesDistributed to faculty, staff and students at Texas A&M University at all campuses and teaching sites. A global outage of CrowdStrike — a cybersecurity technology tool — is currently affecting businesses, industries and government services around the world, including many at Texas A&M University. To support our Technology Services teams as they restore services across our locations, please note the following: Classes are canceled for Friday, July 19; however, all campus locations remain open with operations as planned.If you are unsure of reporting status, please confirm with your supervisor.The New Student Conference at our main campus will remain on-schedule and the equipment and services needed should be prioritized with local IT departments. If you have a university-issued Windows device that will not start up or shows a blue screen, it must be brought to your local IT support team on campus to be manually restored as soon as you are able.This outage was caused by a faulty update to the application and causes Windows computers to enter a reboot loop. This was not caused by a cyberattack, but rather a technical issue with the vendor. Timely updates will be posted via IT alerts and universitywide communications will be shared as services become fully operational.

Employees supporting or participating in clinical operations or those unsure of reporting status should confirm with their supervisor or faculty. Aggie Dining point of sales services for both the main campus and Texas A&M University at Galveston are currently down.
