Winter Weather Update - Jan. 19

Texas A&M University is canceling classes at its Bryan-College Station campus on Tuesday, Jan. 21 due to the anticipated risk of inclement weather. However, employees eligible to fulfill their responsibilities remotely are authorized to do so. A decision regarding campus operations and classes for Wednesday, Jan. 22, will be made by no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21. Employees who perform duties essential to research, clinical services, facility management, utilities, safety or security should confirm reporting protocol with supervisors. All other employees are authorized to work remotely on Jan. 21. Employees who cannot perform assigned tasks or job responsibilities remotely should communicate their circumstances with supervisors and request emergency leave, as appropriate. Aggie Dining will have modified hours of service: https://tx.ag/alternatedininghours. Bus service will not run: https://transport.tamu.edu/transit.  The Memorial Student Center will have modified hours. These will be posted on the University Center and Special Events social media channels. Texas A&M Libraries will be closed: https://library.tamu.edu Hours of operation for recreation centers may vary. Hours are posted online for the Student Recreation Center, Southside Recreation Center and Polo Road Recreation Center at https://recsports.tamu.edu/facilities. For campuses and teaching sites outside of Bryan-College Station, check your respective location’s website and look for messages from your leadership for potential impacts to operations, facility closures and weather updates. Difficult travel is expected in affected areas of the state. The Texas Department of Transportation provides real-time updates on road conditions, including bridge closures: http://drivetexas.org.
