Students can pick from various activities to participate in while interacting with counselors, creating an informal and laid-back environment. During these 15-minute sessions, students will learn strategies for self-care that can improve any area in their lives! Counselor Connect aims to reduce the stigma around mental health and create a safe space on campus for connection. Although this is NOT an individual counseling session, this is an opportunity to engage with a mental health professional and discuss strategies for self-care in order to give you the tools to achieve your academic goals. By attending the Counselor Connect event, students acknowledge that University Health Services cannot guarantee the confidentiality of the conversations that occur during each event.

This series introduces graduate students to the consulting profession. The first session focuses on consulting, available jobs, and the industry. Students will gain an in-depth view of the consulting world. Participants will learn What consulting is and how it fits into the industry sector of professional services; profiles of MBB, Big 4, and boutique consultancies; history of consulting; career ladders, including traditional and specialist; consulting salaries; overview of a consulting engagement. The second session focuses on finding a consulting job. Students will be equipped with search and networking tools and know how to craft a resume and cover letter to get into the interview stage at a consultancy. Participants will learn How consulting recruiting works and how to leverage that to students' advantage; effectively networking with consultants, particularly at firms that have yet to identify TAMU as a target school; crafting a resume that is quantitative and uses Harvard Business School (HBS) format; writing a cover letter that gets noticed by consultancies. Attending this event and completing the reflection is worth 1 PDU towards a G.R.A.D. Aggies Professional Development Certificate for graduate & professional students.
