- Sep 1010:00 AMWellness Wherever You Are: "Talk Saves Lives" Presentation & Suicide Prevention"Talk Saves Lives" is an educational presentation developed by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention that provides a comprehensive overview of suicide prevention. Learn to recognize warning signs, understand risk and protective factors, and take actionable steps to support early intervention prevent suicide. Participants will gain knowledge and confidence to help reduce stigma and make a positive impact in their community.
- Sep 1011:00 AMGrocery Store ToursEver wish you had a guide at the grocery store? Now you do. University Health Services Grocery Store Tours are back, and this month's theme is "Snack Smarter." These in-store tours are led by a campus health educator and are designed to help students learn how to choose affordable, energizing snacks that support both body and brain. Each tour includes a guided walk-through of key grocery sections including produce, grains, dairy and snacks. Students will receive tips on reading nutrition labels, spotting nutrient-dense options and shopping on a student budget. After the tour, participants will complete a fun scavenger hunt through the store and wrap up with a 20–30-minute cooking demonstration and sampling session provided by H-E-B Cooking Connections. Space is limited so sign up today! Students are responsible for their own transportation and should plan to arrive 15 minutes early. The tour will start at the front entrance by the produce section. The tour is free to attend. However, if you register and fail to attend without notifying uhsprevpop@tamu.edu (mailto:uhsprevpop@tamu.edu) at least 24 hours in advance, a $25 no-show fee will be charged to your student account.
