- Oct 18:00 AMFundamentals of Electric Transmission System Planning Three-Day Short CourseHigh voltage electric grids are some of the world's most complex machines, whose present high levels of reliability have been achieved through careful planning. The purpose of this three day short course is to provide a comprehensive coverage of the processes used in doing this planning. The course philosophy is to provide a practical, hands-on approach to describing electric transmission grid planning, with abundant practical examples illustrating each stage in the process. Particular attention will be given to those studies driven by regulatory processes relevant to utilities in North America such as by the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) or the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC). Throughout the course concepts will be illustrated using common industrial planning tools including PowerWorld Simulator with some hands-on exercises. Collectively the three course instructors have decades of experience in doing electric power system planning, planning software tool development, and engineering education (Hours: CEU 2.1, PDH 21). This course counts toward the Texas A&M Certificate in Electrical Power Engineering (https://epg.engr.tamu.edu/electrical-power-engineering-certificate/?_gl=1*1c1nhoc*_ga*MTQxODg1Njk2Ni4xNjkxMDc4MDIx*_ga_SJ5GMN0ZQL*MTY5MTY4MjM1NS4xLjEuMTY5MTY4MjQwMy4xMi4wLjA.*_ga_6Z244NFEFP*MTY5MTY4MjM1NS4xLjEuMTY5MTY4MjQzMy42MC4wLjA.&_ga=2.123620811.1584027957.1691672308-1418856966.1691078021).
- Oct 12:00 PMPublic Service MixerThe Public Service Mixer is a chance for students and public service organizations alike to expand their professional networks. This event allows non-profits, AmeriCorps organizations, and local, state, and federal government agencies to learn more about the talented pool of students that Texas A&M has to offer. Also, students will have the ability to learn more about these organizations and how to enter these industries. There will be a tabling aspect and an informal networking aspect.
- Oct 14:00 PMUnlocking LinkedIn's Hidden PowerLearn how to make your LinkedIn profile more effective and how to use LinkedIn as a research, networking, and job finding tool. Insightful course for all skill levels from new user to expert.

- Oct 2All dayPattern RecognitionThe concept of pattern in the arts provides artists with tools that can limit creativity or suggest new avenues for exploration. They can offer a maker innovative options to explore with their accustomed materials and techniques; at times present a designer a means of control; advance a range of new ornaments and motifs to work with; and impart a new understanding of the relation between functional and decorative form. This exhibition will look at the impact of pattern in the arts using the University Art Galleries collections.
- Oct 2All dayPoetry in MotionSome pairings are literal, such as Joyce Kilmer's famous poem, "Tree,"next to Ola McNeill Davidson's beautiful painting of a tree. Others are more metaphysical and mysterious and ask the visitor to figure out the connection.
