BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 2 Texas A&M baseball team run-ruled Rice, 16-3, in seven innings in midweek action Tuesday night from Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.

With the win, the Aggies (41-8) concluded non-conference play with a perfect 25-0 record for the first time since 2015. In midweek contests, the Maroon & White finished 13-0.

A trio of Aggies recorded multi-hit performances on the night in Braden Montgomery (2-for-4), Caden Sorrell (2-for-2) and Gavin Grahovac (3-for-4). As a team, Texas A&M recorded 11 hits, drew 11 walks and belted four homers in the win.

Brad Rudis earned the win in relief after tossing 2.2 scoreless frames. Starter Weston Moss earned a no-decision after allowing one run on one hit over 2.1 innings of work. The freshman also struck out two on the night.

The Aggies struck first in the opening frame behind a pair of solo homers from Grahovac and Montgomery. For Grahovac, the long ball marked the freshman's 18th of the year, while Montgomery's was his 24th.

In the second, the Maroon & White pushed across three runs courtesy of a pair of wild pitches and an error to stretch their advantage to 5-0. Kaeden Kent, Travis Chestnut and Sorrell all touched home during the frame.

After the Owls (19-29) broke through on the scoreboard in the third with a solo homer, Texas A&M responded with a four-spot in the fourth to extend its lead to 9-1.

Sorrell plated the first run of the frame with a solo blast to right center that traveled 397 feet. The long ball marked the freshman's sixth of the year. Later in the inning, Jace LaViolette joined the home run party with a two-run shot to Section 12 in right center. The sophomore's team-leading 26th blast of the year traveled 406 feet and left the bat at 105 mph.

Hayden Schott pushed across the final run of the frame with an RBI single through the left side that scored Montgomery, who reached on a double.

A sacrifice fly from Kent and an RBI fielder's choice from Montgomery tacked on two more to the Aggie lead in the fifth.

After Rice got a run back in the sixth, the Texas A&M lead bloomed to 16-2 in the bottom half courtesy of five consecutive RBI bases-loaded walks. Blake Binderup, Max Kaufer, Kent, LaViolette and Montgomery all recorded an RBI in the frame.

A solo homer from Owls in the seventh accounted for the final run of the night as the Aggies went on to win 16-3.
